The way to convince someone of the truth.

In light of my most recent post, I think it's time I posted this... Please note, it's a work in progress so don't get too attached to it.

To change someone's view on something the best method is to tell them something that they can not disagree with. Then something else and one more thing. And keep doing it, but guide them. Formulate a thread of logic that leads to their own personal discovery that they were wrong, and you are right. It is best if they do not detect an ulterior motive, or they will disagree with their own truth just to keep from changing. They need an epiphany. And if you are able to take them down a path of no resistance, where they agree to every single thing you say, and that path leads to truth, then they will have one. And hopefully the epiphany will change them. But you have to be completely truthful and logical. You cannot commit logical fallacies. You must examine the logic from every angle and you must seek alternatives and excuses and opposing logic and even twisted logic. They'll use twisted logic so you have to be able to fight it.

Most importantly, you have to know the person. this is why we have to understand our adversaries. To direct them down a path of logic that leads to truth, you have to know where they are at. You have to know who they are and why they do the things they do. This is why I think about the reasons behind things like the pro-choice movement and other evils. If I know the reasons people murder their own unborn children and if I can learn to understand what is going on for these mothers, maybe one day I can get them to realize how wrong they are. If we can get behind the lies of the world, then maybe we can direct people towards truth.

This is the way to teach people the truth.
