If you act a certain way, you have to expect people to react a certain way. For example, if you have a very domineering personality that shuts people down when they try to interject their own idea, you have to expect them to stop interjecting. Then later on, you can't blame them for not interjecting when they would have with someone who isn't so overbearing.
I notice a lot of overbearing people like to put the blame on other people in these sorts of situations. They say, "I can't control how people react to me." But we do live in a society in which people affect other people. No man is an island. Ah! Maybe that's it. Maybe these overbearing personalities do exist as islands and they think everyone else should exist as an island too. If this is true they can't control how other people react to them because they don't know how to act cooperatively.
